Revenue growth is not the same as better economics.

Inflation can lift reported sales while cash generation and purchasing power tell a different story.

Start with the right comparison

In an inflationary economy, higher nominal revenue may reflect prices, volumes, product mix or currency translation. Compare like-for-like periods and read the accounting policies before drawing a conclusion.

Our interpretation

Pricing power is valuable only if demand, working capital and replacement costs support it. A business can report stronger sales and still need more cash to finance inventories and receivables.

What remains uncertain

Sector conditions differ. Exporters, banks and domestic retailers have different exposures. Inflation-adjusted statements require careful reading; a single headline multiple cannot settle the valuation question.

A practical next step

Read the cash-flow statement alongside the income statement and balance sheet. The pack contains a company worksheet, sector frameworks and valuation scenarios.
